Opportunities

POSTDOCS

We currently have two Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions available in the Global Ecology Lab, contributing directly to the Global Ecosystems Atlas Initiative. These positions are advertised on Seek and on the JCU Careers Page, follow the links to apply.

If you wish to apply for a competitive research fellowship, such as an ARC DECRA Fellowship, we would be happy to discuss opportunities for developing and conducting this type of fellowship within our group at JCU.

PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

* JCU has recently enabled domestic PhD scholarship applications to be submitted at any time during the year by domestic candidates, which allow much more flexibility with PhD start date. Please contact Nick to discuss potential projects.

We have a range of ongoing opportunities to conduct graduate research in our lab. We typically focus on recruiting post-graduate students keen to focus on applied remote sensing, understanding threatened marine, coastal and terrestrial ecosystems, species movement and migration, and status assessments of biodiversity.

Some potential projects that would be suitable to develop in our lab include:

We also welcome your own ideas for your PhD project.

Read more about PhD scholarships on the JCU Graduate Research School website (for domestic and international candidates).

If you are interested in conducting honours, masters or PhD research in our lab, contact Nicholas Murray with a CV and short statement of your research interests.

RESEARCH ASSISTANTS

We currently have no open research assistant positions available. Keep an eye out on this page or on the JCU Careers Website for any upcoming positions.
